We know how frustrating it can be when you need a quick bin changeover, the delivery driver is running late, and you have a team working on a tight deadline and budget. Time is money, of course, and AOT realises that our service to you needs to be reliable, punctual and competitively priced. We pride ourselves on having friendly, helpful staff willing to go above and beyond and understanding what it is like as business owners.
What To Put in a Builder’s Skip Bin
There is quite a bit of flexibility in what you can place in a builder’s commercial skip bin; concrete, pavers, roof tiles, brick, general waste, steel & metal and floor tiles are all acceptable. We advise you not to place asbestos or liquid waste, including wet paint tins.
Builders Waste Skip Bin Sizes
AOT Skip Bins range from 2m3 to 9m3. We often find that 6 or 9 cubic metres are the most popular for large jobs, as it allows you to get a substantial amount of waste in one bin. You may consider having the 4m3 bin on a small building or renovation site instead. The 6m3 and 9m3 bins may be too long in a small front yard. We would instead do quick turnovers of smaller bins and cater for the size of your job rather than be worried about the length of the larger bins.
Additional Information
- When ordering the bin, please inform the staff where you would like the bin to be placed. Some things to consider are tight access driveways with the truck, potential sewer placement and scaffolding. You wouldn’t be the first to build scaffolding around a bin, only to have to take it down to get the bin out.
- If you need to place the construction waste bin on council land, AOT Skip Bins can help you. Councils have strict regulations as to where a skip bin can be placed. The customer is responsible for seeking a council permit to place a skip bin on public land, the road or a nature strip before booking the bin. In many instances, we can find another option for bin placement if council permits cannot be obtained. If you need help getting a council permit, please contact AOT Skip Bins before your delivery date; they can help you arrange this.
- Please inform us if you won’t be on the site at the time of delivery, where the bin best needs to be placed, and the site coordinator’s phone number (so we have another contact should you not be available).
